Content Engineer  

 

Scope

The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Group is seeking an experienced Content Engineer (Web Security) to support the 4th Signal Center (Theater) residing in primary locations at Hawaii & Alaska USA and Okinawa, Japan as part of the Pacific-Theater Network Operations Security Center (PAC-TNOSC).   The Content Engineer will be part of the computer network defense (CND) and security services team that will ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the information and systems used in planning, coordinating, directing, controlling, and sustaining military forces.

 

As an expert on Web Content security, the Content Engineer will provide the consultation on all aspect of Web Security, and manage large-scale information security projects. The candidate will direct the team to conduct an evaluation of all vendor provided signature packages, and advise on information & IT infrastructure security to protect the ongoing or future PAC-TNOSC businesses. The candidate will keep the Senior IT team informed of current security vulnerabilities and trends, and direct the security team to provide a practical resolution to address those vulnerabilities. He/she will participate in or lead the internal audit of PAC-TNOSC to ensure compliance of security policies and programs.

 

General Duties

Direct operational responsibility to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on development and implementation of the Web content security architecture
  • Participate with the security monitoring team for prevention, detection, response, and forensic investigation with the respect to security threats and attacks
  • Analyze the security vulnerability and perform the trend assessment for all client computing environment
  • Monitor system alerts, and logs collected by automated tools
  • Plan, configure, execute, maintain, and configuration management of IA software and platforms
  • Manage and maintain a suite of security libraries, tools, and procedures that could be used for internal auditing or support the validation of system that meets the information security processes,  procedures, and policies
  • Develop, document, and enhance security programs and policies throughout the PAC-TNOSC environment
  • Evaluate, design, implement, and provide operational support of remote and mobile communications access infrastructure components and client components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to remote access services.
  • Lead or participate in internal security audits and investigations
  • Manage and participate in a 24/7 on-call security team
Required Qualifications
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in Information Security/Web Content Security
  • Must be IAT-III (CISSP) certified
  • Must be certified as Internet Web Security Analyst
  • Must have familiarity with a wide variety of computer applications and operating systems in a mixed Solaris, Linux, Microsoft Network Operating System, and Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Must have familiarity with the internet security and web content development environment
  • Must possess exceptional teaming skills and will have extensive experience working with internal and external senior customers
  • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications
  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR)

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Science or Mathematics (or equivalent work experience)
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience of Information Security Vulnerabilities Assessment and practices
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (LSS), ISO-IEC Certification for Information Technology Service Management or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment with short timelines
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations
  • Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects
  • Ability to perform and participate in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of network users
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
