Scope

The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Group is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Information Security Manager to support the 4th Signal Center (Theater) residing in primary locations at Hawaii & Alaska USA and Okinawa, Japan as part of the Pacific-Theater Network Operations Security Center (PAC-TNOSC).   The Data Warehouse information Security Manager will be part of the computer network defense (CND) and security services team that will ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the information and systems used in planning, coordinating, directing, controlling, and sustaining military forces.

The Data Warehouse information Security Manager will define database security, organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. The candidate will provide technical consulting to the end-users and management in the defining, implementing, and managing information security and related practices/solutions on the large-scale data warehouse projects/programs of national and/or international scope.

 

 

General Duties

Direct operational responsibility to:

  • Serve as lead expert and architect in the design and maintenance of information security for PAC-TNOSC Oracle database environment
  • Implement, manage, and operate secure architectures to provide layered defense of information
  • Perform the Oracle and SQL database administration and analysis
  • Oversee the planning, configuration, execution, and maintenance of major information security infrastructures/platforms and perform monthly vulnerability scan and assessment
  • Develop plans, procedures, and policies relating to the information security through the organization to support the new system accreditation for government approval
  • Assist with project and action plans for all information security related tasks and processes that require coordination of efforts across PAC-TNOSC operations
  • Work closely with PAC-TNOSC users and developers to design and implement system changes in support of PAC-TNOSC information security requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Design, implement and maintain complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation
  • Interact with development team and end-user personnel, oversee requirements gathering sessions with internal and external customers and translate into technical specifications
  • Support ongoing development of databases for both existing and future applications requirements and for the current and future versions of the Oracle family of database products installed within the PAC-TNOSC environment

 

Required Qualifications
  • Must have 5+ years of Database Administration and Information Security related experience
  • Must be IAT-III (CISSP) Certified
  • Must be Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Certified Professional
  • Must have familiarity with a wide variety of computer applications and operating systems in a mixed Solaris, Linux and Microsoft Network Operating System infrastructure
  • Must possess exceptional communication and written skills and with extensive experience working with senior customers
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, SQL Query, embedded SQL, and supporting application and development environment
  • Must have served as Database Administrator for 2 years
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the database design tools
  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance
  • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR)

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)

  • Preferably Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
