Microwave Line of Sight (MLOS) Engineer

 

Scope	The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Group is seeking an experienced Microwave Line of Sight (MLoS) Engineer to support the 7th Theater Signal Brigade residing in Bagram Afghanistan, as part of the Joint NETOPS Control Center-Afghanistan (JNCC-A) in Bagram, Afghanistan.   The MLoS Engineer will be part of a Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Information (C4I) services team that will support planning, program management, integration, operation, and maintenance of a unified network management function for all C2 systems and services of the Program
General Duties	Direct operational responsibility to:  Conduct loop backs to the JNCC Net Ops and the Commercial NOCs Provide sites with updates during outages of links according to TTPs Keep a log of vendors’ trouble tickets for monthly reporting Coordinate between sites for trouble shooting repairs and new installs Assist, coordinate, and track all site surveys Provide commercial provider trend analysis of systems in place Test MW (MLoS) modems, build and test cables, and test and configure Cisco switches Provide technical assistance when needed Assist grounding, power and a/c issues Provide customer feedback to commercial companies as needed or required Track projects in conjunction with Program Manager from conception to completion Assist with getting quotes from commercial companies for upgrades, changes for existing service and new site installations Provide technical solutions for installation, upgrades and changes to Project Manager Provide all technical requirements to sites prior to installation Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications	Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Science or Business Administration or Mathematics Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) and any combination of the following: IT Infrastructure Library certification (ITIL), Security Plus or network plus Must have at least 6 years of back ground experience in LOS systems and engineering Must have experience with the military and commercial systems Must have at least intermediate knowledge of frequency Must have expert knowledge on MloS systems, to include modems, switches, MW systems, (military and commercial) cabling, electrical, cooling, rigging, network operations and security Must be familiar with SNMPC and Solar Winds Software Must have the ability and knowledge to troubleshoot links and connectivity Must possess an active Secret Clearance Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications
