Information Assurance Network Engineer

 

Scope	The Command & Control Integrated Systems (C2IS) Programs Group is seeking an experienced Information Assurance Network Engineer (IANE) to support the existing Multi National Forces-Iraq (MNF-I). This position will require the candidate to work at numerous US military camps throughout the Iraqi theater. Responsibilities include 24-hour availability, managing security appliances, identifying potential network security vulnerabilities through discovering potential gaps in security best practices. Additional responsibilities include adhering to change control, promoting security policies; coaching network professionals in security in-depth and reporting to the Theater Information Assurance Network Engineer. Travel in theater will be required by the candidate.
Required Skills	The candidate will develop, maintain and update network diagrams for NIPR, SIPR, and CENTRIXS networks. The candidate will assist the Theater Information Assurance Manager (TIAM) in gathering the data necessary to Certify and Accredit Department of Defense Information Systems (DIACAP). • Must be familiar with and utilization of CISCO network management tools (SolarWinds, CiscoWorks, etc.) • Must have experience with Cisco PIX firewalls • Must be familiar with network vulnerability scanners (ex. Retina, Harris STAT, ISS, etc.) and document results in relation to residual risk identification. • Must be able to keep accurate logs of configuration changes to network equipment • Assist with the investigations of unauthorized changes to the network • Maintain baseline configurations for network equipment • Assure that network equipment is running the current approved version of IOS • US Citizen possessing a valid passport • Secret security clearance
Desired Skills	• The candidate must have a minimum of four years experience in Information Assurance. • Possess at least one certification from the following: ISC2, CISSP, SANs, CCNA and/or MCSE
Required Education	A bachelors degree in Information System Security, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or 5 years equivalent experience, be DoD IA Level III certified
