Scope

The Network Administrator’s primary responsibilities include the operation and maintenance ensuring that all production network equipment is properly installed, configured, secured and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, maintain and the repair of standardized network configurations for all layer 2 and 3 switching devices including Cisco 2900 and 3500, 3550, 3560 and 3700 series devices, Cisco 4000 series multi-layer switches and Cisco 6500 series switches.
• Work with remote teams of routing and switching experts designing, installing, maintaining and the repair standardized network configurations for all layer 3 routing devices such as Cisco 2600, 3700 and 7000 series routers.
• Design, install, maintain and the repair of all layer 3 LAN, VLAN routing, physical layer and fiber optic architectures.
• Design, install, maintain and the repair of the following: LAN routing to include in-depth knowledge of RIP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols. Multicast-based video-to-IP internetworking devices to include in-depth knowledge of ip pim and multicast routing.
• Perform detailed troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of Cisco content engine devices, Cisco PIX firewalls including the 515, 520 and 525 series and Cisco-based VPN and network encryption design and implementation.
• Perform detailed troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of KG-175 TACLANE network encryption devices.
• Perform detailed troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of Websense content filtering, Cisco ACS, CiscoWorks LAN management, SolarWinds network monitoring suite including SolarWinds engineer's edition and all associated toolsets.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency with Microsoft troubleshooting tools such as PING, NETSTAT, NBTSTAT, TRACEROUTE, IPCONFIG and ARP.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in the repair and construction of CAT-5, CAT-5e and CAT-6 straight-thru and crossover connectors and know how CAT-5 twisted-pair works.
• Demonstrate a working detailed knowledge and understanding of Windows Active Directory Domains integration and interaction with the network as well as knowing how the various components of domains play part in the overall functionality and stability of the network (i.e., DNS, DHCP and Cisco ACS in use with 802.1X authentication).
• Contribute to the overall design and design improvements of the network infrastructure.
• Coordinate with other contractors to repair and make improvements to both the physical and logical LAN infrastructure.
• Document network configurations and diagrams.
• Detailed understanding of the function of SIPR and NIPR net as well as CENTRIXS.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• Four-year technical degree or equivalent experience
• CCNP Certification
• Advanced technical troubleshooting experience
• Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications

• CCNP desired, but not required
